Why Toyota Center is a strong March Madness stop

The Toyota Center lives and breathes basketball. It currently plays home to the Houston Rockets and formerly the Aeros (AHL) and Comets (WNBA).

The best part? It's located in the heart of downtown Houston, just steps away from the convention center, the Discovery Green park, hotels, restaurants, concert venues and more.

You can spend two days watching basketball and one exploring all Houston has to offer. The first time the NCAA Tournament will play at Toyota Center, Houstonites are ready to show off their city.

What to know before you go

Home of the Houston Rockets, Toyota Center has a capacity of 19,000. The arena has since become a staple for Houston sports, entertainment and more.

As fans head to the Toyota Center for the NCAA Tournament, know that the arena uses mobile ticketing for easy entry. Additionally, the area is cashless so only card and mobile payments are accepted. Cash can be exchanged at the Box Office.

Doors open 90 minutes before tipoff. Re-entry is not allowed, so once a ticket is scanned a patron can not leave and re-enter the building.

Bags must be no larger than 10"x6"x2" with the exception of diaper and medical bags. Lockers will be available onsite.

Toyota Center is available by public transit, but those parking at the venue can purchase passes on StubHub for nearby lots and garages. Click "parking" at the top of the page to view options.
