NBC analyst defends Colorado Buffaloes football legend Shedeur Sanders for absurd reason

Ex-Colorado Buffaloes football star Shedeur Sanders’ embarrassing draft slide and the reports about him following it did enough to taint his reputation.

His 101 mph speeding ticket in a 60 mph zone added another wrinkle to that.

However, NBC’s Mike Florio defends that Sanders’ latest infamous headline isn’t too bad of a smear on his reputation.

At least, not as bad as Rashee Rice had it.

“Let he who has never crossed the 100 mph barrier, cast the first stone. I’ve done it. I’m sure most of you, at some time or another in your life, you have given in to the temptation to see what it feels like to get your car to 100 mph. … I’m not condoning it,” Florio said in his sitdown.

“Because I’m assuming that under the right conditions, with no other cars around, straight, for the most part, highway, full control of the vehicle, favorable weather conditions. I got no problem with somebody testing out the gaskets and seeing if it can get to 100 and seeing what it feels like when it gets there.”

Florio argued that Sanders was in control of his setting, and it was not as bad as Rice’s alleged crash in 2024 that had reportedly left multiple people injured.

“But if you’re doing it in a Rashee Rice setting, that is irresponsible, that’s reckless, and that’s wrong. I don’t know anything about the circumstances for Shedeur Sanders’ 101 mph violation in a 60 mph zone,” Florio said.

“I could just see that some people would look at that and say, ‘he didn’t learn whatever lesson there was to be learned from falling to pick No. 144.’ I say it’s apples and oranges. But, I understand perception can be reality.”

Sanders is yet to openly admit to getting clocked at 101 mph, but he did indirectly address the situation.

“I've made some wrong choices, I can own up to it - I learn from them,” Sanders said.

Well, fans have been slamming Sanders online for not learning his lesson after brutal opinions on him post-NFL Draft.

Only time will tell whether this online tirade against him will affect whatever chances he has at becoming the Browns' starting QB this season.
