Miles Mikolas and Michael Lorenzen were pitching in different MLB ballparks on Friday.
But one thing is clear -- they'll both want to forget their starts for the Washington Nationals and Colorado Rockies, respectively.
They were two of the worst pitching outings in recent memory.
It was never going to be easy for Mikolas, who was going up against the back-to-back world champion Los Angeles Dodgers.
And while the Nats spotted Mikolas a 3-0 lead, he eventually got shelled.

Shohei Ohtani started the onslaught with a three-run homer, and the rout was on from there.
Mikolas went 4.1 innings, allowing 11 hits and 11 earned runs while walking one and striking out four.
It's a pitching line never done exactly like that before:

Lorenzen had a tough task, too. He was pitching in the thin air at Coors Field against a talented Phillies lineup.
He, too, had a line never done in baseball history -- 3.0 innings, 12 hits, 9 earned runs, 2 walks, 2 Ks.

These are two veterans who have been around a long time. They know how to shake off a bad start and move on to the next one.
These ones will be just a bit tougher to move past. They were extremely painful.
