Myles Garrett starred in a short-lived but intense standoff with the Cleveland Browns during the 2025 offseason. After requesting a trade away from Cleveland, the defensive end agreed to a four-year, $160 million contract extension.
Amid a rough start to the season, his future might be up in the air, as the Browns are struggling to get things going. Their most recent defeat came against the New England Patriots, who dominated the Browns 34-13 despite Garrett's five sacks against second-year quarterback Drake Maye.
Browns reporter Aaron Goldhammer shared on Thursday that the defending Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, could try to make a move to acquire the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year.

Myles Garrett has recorded 31 tackles (16 fewer than last season in nine fewer games), a league-leading 10 sacks and one forced fumble in 2025. He has taken his game to the next level, and the Browns have failed to cash in on his impressive performances.
At 2-6, there's no clear sign that they can turn things around and compete for a playoff spot. Garrett has been the heart and soul of the defense, and many times the only good thing the team has had to show, but he made it clear he wanted to have the chance to compete for Super Bowls in February.
Browns remain reluctant to trade Myles Garrett amid interest from Eagles
NFL insider Charles Robinson shared that the Eagles are "super hot" after Myles Garrett during an appearance on ESPN Nashville's 102.5 The Game. However, Robinson added that the Browns are reluctant to part ways with their best player.
"But, yeah, so that’s kinda like this rumor that’s out there. Like, hey, Howie would really love a shot at [Garrett]. But, again, I was told by the Browns they’re not interested in moving him," Robinson said.Adding Garrett would make the Eagles extremely dangerous, but at this point, that doesn't seem realistic.
