"Motherf*cker hits hard" - John Cena on 38-year-old WWE star

John Cena has shared his opinion on a 38-year-old WWE star. The 17-time World Champion's in-ring career came to an end on December 13 against Saturday Night's Main Event.

This finish of the match saw Cena tap out to Gunther, and the outcome has left fans divided. The Ring General also received a lot of heat and had to be escorted out of the arena by extra security.

While Gunther is facing flak from some fans, the Franchise Player has nothing but respect for him. During an appearance on What Do You Wanna Talk About? With Cody Rhodes, Cena discussed his last WWE opponent and said he admired the values he possesses.

"Honestly, to be honored to be in there with somebody who takes the mat as sacred. I don’t care who likes or doesn’t like Gunther. Respect is a core value, motherf**ker hits hard and hits pure, and he is all about this 20×20 box," he said.

The WWE icon also said that the 38-year-old star does things his way, and for that he has his respect.

"And whether he does it my way, a wise man once said, ‘Just because it’s the way John does it doesn’t mean it’s the way it needs to be done. And I got the utmost respect for him." he said.

John Cena also praised Cody Rhodes' work ethic

During the conversation, John Cena expressed his gratitude to Cody Rhodes for the work he has been putting in.

He said his work ethic was aspirational and said he was juggling many things together. Cena also appreciated Rhodes for giving him more time on his podcast.

The Champ said he was proud of the American Nightmare and thanked him for his time. Rhodes and Cena had two matches for the WWE Championship this year.

John Cena beat him to win his 17th World Title while Rhodes got his Championship back following a win over the GOAT at SummerSlam.
