Will Kentucky pass UNC for the most March Madness wins?

Kentucky has a chance to pass UNC for the most March Madness wins this year. Mark Pope and the Wildcats are just one win shy of tying the Tar Heels on the list, and two shy of passing them.

In order for Kentucky to leapfrog UNC, it would have to pick up at least two victories. Kentucky beat  10-seed Santa Clara in the opening round of the tournament in 2026, and with UNC getting upset, need to make the Sweet 16 to earn the top spot. If they're fortunate enough to advance to the Sweet 16, which means likely beating No. 2 Iowa State, they would be facing one of No. 6 Tennessee, No. 11 Miami (Ohio), No. 11 SMU, No. 3 Virginia or No. 14 Wright State.
