The Charlotte Hornets earned another win Thursday, defeating the Orlando Magic on what was a special night.
Brandon Miller set the tone early and finished with 25 points, eight assists and four rebounds. However, it was Coby White who led the team in scoring, adding 27 points off the bench to go along with five assists and three rebounds.
At halftime, the Hornets held a retirement ceremony for Dell Curry's iconic No. 30. Curry was joined by his sons, Stephen Curry and former Hornet, Seth Curry.
Dell spent 10 seasons in Charlotte as a player and continues to broadcast for them today alongside play-by-play announcer Eric Collins.
During his time with the team, Curry averaged 14 points, shooting an impressive 40.5% from three-point range.
Following the game, Miller spoke about Dell's ceremony and his impact on the team.
"It's always a great achievement. It's good to have Dell around, helping us, just giving us some small things to look forward to and add to our game."
With the win, Charlotte has now won four of their last five games, defeating two teams that sit above them in the Eastern Conference standings.
As a result, the Hornets have moved to 36-34 and trail the Miami Heat by two games for the No. 8 seed. Charlotte also leads the Bucks by 7.5 games for the 10th seed, increasing the likelihood that they at least make the Play-In Tournament.
With 12 games remaining, the Hornets will play five straight at home, beginning with Saturday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
