No. 1 seed Duke and No. 9 TCU opened March Madness by sweating out narrow victories, setting up a second-round matchup Saturday.
The Blue Devils (33-2) trailed No. 16 seed Siena by as many as 13 points in the second half before locking down on defense and roaring back for a 71-65 victory. Cameron Boozer had 22 points and 13 rebounds while his brother Cayden scored a career-high 19 and added five assists for Duke.
The ninth-seeded Horned Frogs (23-11) have been hot in March and survived a thriller against Ohio State on Thursday. Micah Robinson had 18 points and David Punch added 16 points and 13 rebounds as TCU saw a 15-point halftime lead evaporate before finally prevailing on Xavier Edmonds' basket with 4.3 seconds to play.
Saturday will mark the first meeting between the Blue Devils and Horned Frogs, and a berth in the Sweet 16 will be on the line.
