We split Friday’s MLB player prop wagers but came out ahead thanks to a plus-money ticket on under 3.5 strikeouts for the Dodgers Clayton Kershaw. That brings our weekly record to 6-4through five days, with two slates remaining this weekend.

Saturday features 16 games to choose from in the player props market, and the first matchup in our MLB betting targets is the Yankees Max Fried against the woeful Rockies lineup.

MLB Player Prop Picks for May 24

Max Fried Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-110 at DraftKings)

Fried enters play as one of MLB’s top pitchers through two months. The southpaw owns the best ERA in baseball at 1.29, and ranks second in wins and seventh in WHIP. He’s yielded two or fewer runs in every start so far, and hasn’t allowed more than five hits in a game since April 4th.

The 31-year-old is on pace for career-highs in virtually every pitching category, and has increased his strikeout production lately. Fried is averaging over a strikeout per inning in Mayacross four starts, fanning eight batters in two of his last three outings. His K prop for today sits at 6.5, a number he’s likely to soar over given the matchup.

No team in baseball strikes out more than the Rockies. Colorado averages 10 strikeouts per game, and whiffed eight times against Yankees starter Clarke Schmidt in only 4.2 innings in the series opener. Five Rockies regulars boast a K rate above 25%, while Fried has a career 27.5% strikeout rate against the current hitters in the Colorado lineup.

Taylor Ward Over 1.5 Hits, Runs, and RBI (-125 at Bet365)

One of the hottest hitters in baseball over the last two weeks is Taylor Ward of the Angels. The 31-year-old has already smacked 15 home runs and driven in 36 runs this season, going deep five times in his last seven games alone.

Ward is slashing .345/.397/.855 over the last two weeks, smacking 19 hits and scoring 14 runs.

He’s cleared over 1.5 hits, runs, and RBI in nine straight contests, and is an excellent bet to do so again tonight against the Marlins Cal Quantrill.

Ward is 5-for-9 lifetime versus Quantrill, with 4 RBI. The Miami hurler is allowing a career-worst 45% hard hit rate, and has lost 1.5 miles per hour off his fastball since breaking into the league back in 2019.

Pete Crow-Armstrong Over 1.5 Hits, Runs, and RBI (-110 atBet365)

For our final wager, we’re betting over 1.5 hits, runs, and RBI for the Cubs Pete Crow-Armstrong.

The 23-year-old erupted for a 2-homer, 6 RBI night versus the Reds on Friday, and has now driven in 45 runs, the third most in the Majors.

Crow-Armstrong is making hard contact at a solid 40% clip, clearing this prop line in five of his past seven games. He’s slashing .305/.326/.683 in May so far, scoring 17 runs and racking up 24 RBI.

The matchup today with Reds lefty Andrew Abbott is intimidating, but certainly winnable.

Crow-Armstrong has 11 hits, 3 home runs, and 12 RBI already off southpaws this season, which is a vast improvement from his numbers versus lefties a season ago.
