The Toronto Blue Jays have added several high-profile names to the roster in the offseason after their heartbreaking World Series loss against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

However, the Blue Jays are still in pursuit of their former All-Star infielder Bo Bichette, who continues to be on the shopping list of several MLB teams in free agency.

Former Blue Jays manager Buck Martinez reflected on the Bichette situation in a conversation with MLB Network. Martinez said that Bichette's return to Toronto will see him form a career-defining partnership with superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

"I know Bo wants to come back," Martinez said. "He signed as a teenager with the Blue Jays... I know he wants to come back. The question is, does he want to play short, does he want to play second? I think he would play second base alongside Andres Gimenez. "I think Bo at this point in his career would love to stay in Toronto, finish off his career with Vladdy Guerrero Jr., and be the second baseman going forward. I don't have any inside information about that, but I would say it's probably a strong eight [out of 10] that Bo ends up back in Toronto."

However, the signing of Bichette won't come cheap as the two-time All-Star slugger is predicted to land a contract worth around $200 million after his strong finish to the 2025 postseason.
