How Hilaria Baldwin's Kids Reacted to Her ‘DWTS’ Journey
Hilaria Baldwin isn't dancing around her next move.
Indeed, the Dancing With the Stars alum revealed that she and Alec Baldwin are planning to bid farewell to New York for the West Coast.
"We don't want to raise our kids in the Hamptons anymore," Hilaria told gurus magazine in an interview published Dec. 16. "We're considering L.A. It's all about fresh energy—a reset."
It's been a tumultuous few years for the couple—who share kids Carmen, 12, Rafael, 10, Leonardo, 9, Romeo, 7, Eduardo, 5, María, 4, and Ilaria, 2—as they navigated life after the 2021 fatal shooting of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
The wellness entrepreneur reflected on the trial, where Alec's involuntary manslaughter charge—to which he pleaded not guilty—was dismissed with prejudice in July 2024 after prosecutors were accused of hiding evidence. (The film's armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and released from prison in May.)
She explained, "At one point, I recall thinking, 'What if Alec doesn't come home after the trial? What would I do?"
With Alec—also dad to his and ex-wife Kim Basinger's 30-year-old daughter Ireland—and Hilaria's TLC show The Baldwins filming amid the trial, the yoga instructor struggled to balance everything in their life in front of the cameras.
"I was angry when we started," she noted. "I was worried and protective of my family. I had to be the head of the family through it all."
Nonetheless, Hilaria, 41, found her footing as their family rolled with the punches. While she knows that bringing cameras into her home could bring some not-so-pleasant comments about their life, she added, "Eventually, you learn to live with it anyway."
And Hilaria hasn't shied away from comments about their blended family, either. In fact, she also revealed how she navigated her relationship with Ireland when she and Alec began dating.

"I told Alec, if Ireland didn't like me, I wouldn't stay," she admitted. "I'm not a dog who needs to mark its territory."
Luckily, Ireland was glad that Hilaria cha-cha'd her way into Alec's heart.
"She is eccentric and totally bat s--t crazy (in a fun way), but she saved my dad's life," Ireland wrote on Instagram in September. "She turned his health around and has shown him the forgiveness and kindness that he needed. She also recognizes and nourishes the parts of my father that are the most compassionate and wonderful."
"Hilaria is the reason I am able to have the close relationship with my father that I do," she continued. "She is the reason I get to have siblings/a big family that I've always wanted. She has always respected me, accepted my flaws, embraced me, and has always shown me kindness."
