AEW finds itself at the mercy of MJF again as the Wolf of Wrestling became the company's World Champion for the second time. Following his massive win, Friedman broke his silence with a sharp, bold message.
History was made last night at Worlds End 2025 as MJF became AEW World Champion for the second time in his career. The Salt of the Earth, who had entered the World title picture by cashing in his Casino Gauntlet contract, bested former champ Samoa Joe, Hangman Page, and Swerve Strickland in a 4-way bout to achieve the feat. Although the finish of the match was controversial, with Friedman using underhanded tactics, it does not take much away from what was otherwise a stellar contest.
Following his win, MJF took to X and broke his silence in typical MJF fashion. He called himself a generational talent and a young GOAT.
"GENERATIONAL TALENT! TELL EVERYONE ELSE TO KEEP UP! CRY TO YOUR MOMMA! YOUR NEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW 2x WORLD CHAMPION. THE YOUNG GOAT MAXWELL JACOB FRIEDMAN. SEE YOU LOSERS ON WEDNESDAY!," MJF on XGENERATIONAL TALENT! TELL EVERYONE ELSE TO KEEP UP! CRY TO YOUR MOMMA! MJF paid tribute to Adam Cole at AEW Worlds End 2025
At the Worlds End 2025 Zero Hour pre-show, fans were greeted by a brief appearance from Adam Cole. The Panama City Playboy, who made his first appearance on All Elite Wrestling programming since All In, marked his return by thanking fans for their support amid his ongoing concussion-related hiatus.
Cole's appearance on the show may have prompted his former 2023 tag team partner, MJF, to pay tribute to him. At one point during the World Title match, the Salt of the Earth hit Swerve Strickland with a Panama Sunrise, one of Cole's signature moves.
Check out the tribute in the video clip below:
It will be interesting to see what MJF will have to say when he addresses the crowd on Dynamite next Wednesday as the new AEW World Champion.
