Mitch Johnson will demand Victor Wembanyama to be more aggressive in Game 6

As the San Antonio Spurs' biggest star, Victor Wembanyama faces high expectations he has to meet every game. In Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Wemby was not aggressive enough.

He only shot the ball 15 times, which is not what a superstar does. Spurs head coach Mitch Johnson agrees because he would prefer that Wembanyama score at least 20 points, which is what he is demanding for Game 6 in San Antonio.

Mitch Johnson wants Victor Wembanyama to be as aggressive as possible

Of course, the Thunder's defense is quite strong because of their personnel and Mark Daigneault's system. They are one of the most difficult teams to score against, which is what Wembanyama has been dealing with.

The Spurs need more from him, as he will need to force the issue. Playing within the system is good, but Wembanyama has to flex his superstar muscles because the Spurs will be ending their season in Game 6 if he does not step up.

Wemby only made four shots out of his 15 attempts. He made a living from the free-throw line, making all 12 of his attempts. That shows aggression, but he has to take his chances better and be more efficient with his attacks.

"We’re gonna need to. He’s gotta take more than 15 shots, even with the free throws. He’s gonna need to score more than 20 points, for sure," Johnson said to reporters in OKC after the Game 5 loss.

Moving forward, the Spurs will be up against the wall. They are quite dangerous when that happens, so they will want Wembanyama to come out with guns blazing in Game 6, as they want to win and force a do-or-die Game 7.
