Mississippi State commits the most unbelievable NCAA violation you'll ever see

When you think of NCAA violations, many picture shady recruiting calls, improper payments, or under-the-table deals. Not a $150 golf trip.

Yet that's exactly what landed Mississippi State in hot water. The Bulldogs were found in violation of NCAA rules over a golf outing that cost less than a pair of sneakers, and it's raising eyebrows on social media. The kicker, it's the same sport that the athletes are being recruited to play at Mississippi State.

The Clarion Ledger reported that the NCAA deemed that three golf recruits were on an official visit and played a round of golf, with $150 paid by MSU. "That exceeded the $60 entertainment expense limit, so the recruits had to pay the difference, $90 each, to a charity of their choice."

It goes deeper; the Ledger reported that the NCAA deemed a lunch less than $25 a violation for MSU. "A recruit for the men's track and field team brought his girlfriend on an official visit, but she was not an approved guest and was provided lunch on the visit. The recruit had to pay back the cost of the meal, valued at $22.54."
