Mike Trout provided a remind of who he is during his first couple games in 2026

Once upon a time, long-term Los Angeles Angel Mike Trout was by far the best player in the American League and in general.

However, over the past seasons, the three-time MVP had become an afterthought, mainly because Trout dealt with multiple injuries and the Angels organization struggled.

Of course, nobody should ever question the talent that Trout possesses, but to be fair, it has been a while since we have been able to see the right fielder play at an elite level.

Based on the first two games of the Angels' season, Trout might find himself back on top of the game if he can stay healthy.

Trout coming for the glory once again?!

Through his first ten at-bats to begin the season against the Houston Astros, the 11-time all-star has drawn four walks, two singles, and two home runs, with one of them reaching the height of 403ft, showcasing his great plate discipline and home run power.

With those results, Trout has video-game-like numbers with a .600/.800/1.667 splits for his batting average, on-base, and slugging performances, which clearly will not hold up for the rest of the season, but is the best two-day performance for the outfielder since April of 2023.

Trout, 34, is entering his 16th season in the league, and although it may be based on a small sample size, the nine-time Silver Slugger could be on his way to another, which would put him in rare air.

How the remainder of the season will go for Trout and the Angels remains to be seen, but off those first two games alone, the veteran is making it clear he can still perform at a high level.
