Mike Macdonald gives Seahawks game ball to most unlikely hero

In Week 15, the Seahawks were involved in arguably the most intriguing matchup of the weekend. This wasn't due to it being a battle of titans, but due to the madness surrounding the Indianapolis Colts' signing of 44-year-old Philip Rivers.

Regardless of how silly the signing was or how poorly Rivers played on Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks found themselves in an absolute dog fight from wire to wire.

With just 40 seconds left, the Colts kicked a 60-yard field goal to go ahead one. At this point, it seemed over.

Thankfully for Seattle, they were able to correctly manage the clock, get in field goal position, and let the best kicker in the NFL this season, Jason Myers, kick a game-winner.

In the locker room after the game, Mike Macdonald gave out game balls, and without this week's unlikely recipient, the Seahawks may not have been able to pull off their game-winning 56-yard field goal.

During the Colts' final drive, Macdonald expertly used timeouts in order to save the 47 seconds, which allowed Seattle to drive down into position for the game-winner.

Everything in football is a team effort, even coaching decision-making.

Macdonald took the chance to recognize the longtime Seahawks analyst and Director of Football Analysis and Special Situations, Brian Eayrs, by giving him yesterday's game ball.

Coach Mike Macdonald’s clock management won this game late.

I had him walk us through his thinking. He credits his main-man analyst Brian Eayrs. Gave him game ball in the locker room for convincing him why to use all 3 of the #Seahawks’ time outs on defense to leave :47 left. pic.twitter.com/A1qwifBu0Y

Macdonald said, "He was really decisive, I give him a lot of credit. I gave him the game ball in the locker room because he put us in a position to still have a chance to win the game."

If it weren't for Eayrs, Seattle would've suffered one of the most embarrassing losses of the season, but instead, they find themselves at 11-3 and primed for a playoff push.

Definitely worthy of a game ball.
