Sherrone Moore suspended himself for Weeks 3 and 4 of his Michigan Wolverines football program’s 2025 schedule, imposing a self-ban for the Central Michigan and Nebraska games this September before their bye week.
Notice how ESPN’s Dan Wetzel and Pete Thamel reported Moore’s convenient scheduling quirk.
“The suspensions (by the university for the Connor Stalions advanced scouting scandal) will be for Michigan's Week 3 and Week 4 games against Central Michigan and Nebraska. Moore will also be barred from any team-related duties during those weeks, and will receive additional recruiting-related penalties. The NCAA can still punish Moore in addition to the self-imposed school penalties. A final resolution is expected before the start of the season,” Wetzel and Thamel wrote.
“Michigan opens the season by hosting New Mexico before hitting the road for a high-profile nonconference game at Oklahoma, Moore's alma mater.”
Moore isn’t missing the 2025 Wolverines’ first public appearance at Michigan Stadium and will be playing Oklahoma, his alma mater.
You can’t even be mad. Moore is being blatant about how much of a money grab college football is.
Miss the CMU game with minimal issue – missing the Big Ten opener is curious, but necessary not to disrupt conference play in late November when Northwestern and Maryland might’ve made more sense otherwise – and be present against the institution he got his degree from and played OG for.
Genius.
As the winningest team of all time, a recent national champion, and a program that, along with five others, makes the lion’s share of the sport’s total revenue, Michigan can get away with a self-imposed slap on the wrist like this.
