The Miami Dolphins are making a change to their quarterback depth chart, but no, they are not benching Tua Tagovailoa.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Miami is promoting rookie signal-caller Quinn Ewers to the backup quarterback job behind Tagovailoa, which means Zach Wilson has been demoted to the No. 3 spot.
The Dolphins are making a change to their QB depth chart for today’s game, as Quinn Ewers will serve as the backup to Tua Tagovailoa for their matchup against the Browns, per the insiders," Rapoport reported.
Ewers has been inactive for the first six games of Miami's season and has served as the emergency quarterback. Now, he's one injury away from taking his first NFL snaps.
