Mexico leads in latest Concacaf national team rankings

Concacaf has always been one of the weaker FIFA confederations, with Mexico and the U.S. usually carrying the weight. Mexico’s status as the big dog of the region hasn’t changed, but casual fans may be surprised at where the United States currently ranks on their leaderboard.

The U.S. Men’s National Team had an underwhelming March, losing to Portugal and Belgium by a combined 7-2 score. Mexico didn’t have an outstanding window either, as they tied both of those teams and only scored one goal. Both Canada and Panama, who beat the U.S. during the 2025 Nations League Finals, rank above the USMNT, who currently sit in the fourth spot.

Jamaica, who failed to beat DR Congo in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Play-Off Tournament final, jumped over Haiti, who did qualify for the World Cup, in the standings and sit at the top of the Caribbean. Curaçao, who also qualified for the World Cup in dramatic fashion back in November, sit just outside the top ten, behind teams like Guatemala and Honduras.
