The New York Mets will be looking at some new faces.

That's because free agency has arrived.

The World Series ended with Game 7 on Saturday night as the Los Angeles Dodgers edged the Toronto Blue Jays. And with that comes the beginning of the offseason.

On Sunday, MLB released a list of all the veterans who are entering into free agency.

The Mets had eight names on the list:

  • Griffin Canning
  • Ryan Helsley
  • Starling Marte
  • Cedric Mullins II
  • Tyler Rogers
  • Gregory Soto
  • Ryne Stanek
  • Jesse Winker

Mullins may be the most intriguing name on the list. he was a trade deadline acquisition to play centerfield, and while he's probably past his peak, he's still a useful player for the right price.

Helsley was also a trade deadline pickup and is still a quality relief pitcher.

Rogers, Soto and Stanek also get the job done out of the bullpen, too.

Marte has been with the Mets but may be approaching the end of his career.

Winker is a platoon bat now, but the Mets could try to bring him back for a cheap price, too.

It's a list of names that isn't crucial but is large enough to expect New York to either make strong pursuits of a few of these guys or have to find a bunch of new faces out of the rest of the free agent pool.
