Juan Soto will be a New York Mets superstar for a long time.
He's got another hat to don next spring, though.
Soto announced Wednesday that he'll represent the Dominican Republic in the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
This will be a return to the WBC for Soto, who also played in 2023.
In that tournament, Soto was 6-for-15 (.400) with three doubles, two home runs and three RBI. He also threw out a runner from right field against Nicaragua.

Soto is just starting to heat up a bit after a slow start to his Mets career.
He's up to eight home runs and a .380 on-base percentage.
The last time Soto played in the WBC was ahead of his first full season with the Padres. He of course then joined the Yankees for 2024 before coming to the Mets in 2025.
Soto's Dominican Republic team has the potential to be one of the best in the tournament, as usual.
The D.R. player pool also includes Manny Machado, Rafael Devers, Ketel Marte, Willy Adams and Julio Rodriguez, among many other big leaguers.
