The Sparks enjoyed a whirlwind offseason in 2025.
Los Angeles limped through a dour campaign last season, stumbling down the league standings after Cameron Brink suffer a torn ACL in June.
The Sparks finished the year with the worst record in the league and looked well-positioned to land the most glint of gemstones in this year's draft — UConn guard Paige Bueckers.
That didn't quite happen, as Los Angeles settled for second in the draft lottery, surrendering their chances at landing the standout senior. With Bueckers out of the picture, the Sparks opted to drop out of the lottery entirely, sending its No. 2 selection to the Storm in a three-team deal that netted Los Angeles Kelsey Plum.
Brink, Plum, Rickea Jackson, and Dearica Hamby figure to form an enticing quartet atop the Sparks' depth chart. The former of those options — Brink — is an especially intriguing prospect, blessed with versatility, quick feet, and a harrowing 6-4 frame. Brink could very well be one of the W's best defensive players in due time. Her return would bolster the Sparks and their postseason chances, especially if she and Jackson take the leaps that many in the basketball world are craving.

So, just when will Brink be back in Los Angeles' purple-and-gold? Here's the latest on her recovery timeline.
Cameron Brink injury update
The Sparks haven't yet announced when Brink will return to action in 2025. She hasn't seen the floor since June, revealing she only recently was cleared to start working on her movement skills.
“Honestly, like, it’s been a whirlwind. But I feel like now people don’t talk about it as much," Brink said on her podcast, "Straight To Cam," back in March. "This is the hardest part for me because I’m just finally starting to do the jumping, the running, and the cutting slightly."
Brink underwent surgery on her torn left ACL back in July. In the months since her operation, she's focused on tacking muscle onto her 6-4 frame.
“It’s definitely fun to think of transforming my whole body—not just worry about getting back from my knee,” Brink told Women's Health earlier in the offseason.
She took part in individual drills during the Unrivaled season, too, seemingly an indication that her return isn't all that far away.
To that end, ESPN's Holly Rowe reported that the Sparks are optimistic that Brink will be back in action by the start of the All-Star break — right in line with Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd's yearlong recovery timelines from the same injury in the past.
Such a timetable would give Brink an estimated return date around early June.
