Memphis Grizzlies vs OKC Thunder preview
The 13-15 Grizzlies are attempting to climb the Western Conference standings, but injuries have significantly hampered their season to this point.
Memphis will be without several key contributors against Oklahoma City, including Ja Morant (left ankle sprain), Zach Edey (left ankle stress reaction), Ty Jerome (right calf strain), Brandon Clarke (right calf strain) and Scotty Pippen Jr., who is recovering from left great toe surgery.
John Konchar, Javon Small and Vince Williams Jr. are also sidelined for the Grizzlies.
Meanwhile, the Thunder are navigating their toughest stretch of the season after dropping two of their last three games.
Injuries remain a concern for Oklahoma City as well, with Chet Holmgren, Alex Caruso and Aaron Wiggins listed as questionable, while Isaiah Hartenstein, Ousmane Dieng and Jaylin Williams have been ruled out.
Despite being under .500 and dealing with injuries, Memphis remains one of the league’s stronger teams in rebounding and ball movement.
The Grizzlies allow the sixth-most field-goal attempts per game defensively, but opponents convert at a 45.2% rate, ranking 25th in the NBA.
OKC, owners of the league’s top-rated defense, are powered by reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who is averaging 32.5 points per game on an efficient 55.4% shooting.
While the availability of his supporting cast remains uncertain, the Thunder bench has consistently demonstrated a plug-and-play mentality throughout the season.
Memphis Grizzlies vs OKC Thunder betting tips
Player prop markets were not available at the time of publication, but Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is expected to surpass 31.5 points, with the Thunder projected to cover the spread in a convincing win.
Memphis does not have a player averaging 20 points per game this season, though Jaren Jackson Jr. is a strong candidate to exceed that mark, while Cedric Coward could reach at least 16 points.
Memphis Grizzlies vs OKC Thunder prediction
OKC should maintain control of the game from start to finish, particularly with Memphis missing several core players.
Our prediction: Thunder win by 21.
