Georgia GOP representative Marjorie Taylor Greene recently announced her decision to resign from Congress in the aftermath of her bitter feud with President Donald Trump over the release of the Epstein files. On November 21, 2025, Greene announced her resignation via a 10-minute video posted to social media, adding that her last day would be January 5, 2026.

Following this, blogger Meghan McCain, the late Arizona Senator John McCain's daughter, took to her X account to react to Marjorie Taylor Greene's resignation, jokingly predicting that the representative would join The View as a co-host.

"I knew she was going to be the next cohost of The View!" McCain wrote.

I knew she was going to be the next cohost of The View!

For the uninformed, The View is a chat show on ABC, hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, and Sunny Hostin. Notably, McCain was a former host on the talk show between 2017 and 2021. During an interview with Page Six in 2024, McCain said there was "not a chance in hell" that the show's producer would ever ask her to return, suggesting that she wouldn't return even if they asked.

“I’ve had kids since then. I really like my life right now and I feel like it’s taken me a long time to sort of get to a place where people are seeing me as more serious. I’m 39, I’ll be 40 in October, and there’s something about pushing 40,” she added.

McCain further said she didn't maintain contact with the "main co-hosts that [she] was with" after her tenure on the show, but added that she still had "friends that work on the show and people that [she] made relationships with."

"I refuse to be a battered wife" - Marjorie Taylor Greene said in her resignation video

Marjorie Taylor Greene, one of the most vocal supporters of Donald Trump, shocked the Republican Party after she recently went against the president and criticized him for not agreeing to release all files regarding convicted s*x offender Jeffrey Epstein.

According to the BBC, Greene was one of the four Republicans who signed a discharge petition lobbying for the files' public release while supporting Epstein survivors. Last week, the president took to social media to dub Greene "wacky" and a "traitor," writing in a Truth Social post on November 15:

"Marjorie 'Traitor' Green [sic] is a disgrace to our GREAT REPUBLICAN PARTY!"

Trump also vowed to back any Republican candidate who ran against Greene during the next midterm election in 2026.

That same day, Marjorie Taylor Greene went on X and claimed that Trump's remarks allegedly made her a target for threats "fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world." She added that the president's "aggression" towards her was "completely shocking to everyone," firmly stating that she did not "worship or serve Donald Trump."

On November 18, 2025, Marjorie Taylor Greene joined many of the Epstein survivors for a press conference on Capitol Hill. This came ahead of the House vote on the bill, titled the Epstein Files Transparency Act, to ensure the public release of all documents regarding the disgraced financier.

In her speech, Marjorie Taylor Greene said the Epstein survivors "fought the most horrific fight that no woman should have to fight," adding that she and the bill's supporters also fought "against the most powerful people in the world, even the president of the United States, in order to make this vote happen today.” According to PBS, she referenced the president calling her a traitor, saying:

“I’ve never owed him anything, but I fought for him, for the policies and for America first. He called me a traitor for standing with these women and refusing to take my name off the discharge petition.”

🚨HOLY COW: Marjorie Taylor Greene suggests Donald Trump is the traitor:"I was called a traitor by a man that I fought for 6 years.I gave him my loyalty for free...Let me tell you what a traitor is.It's an American who servesforeign countries and THEMSELVES." BOOOM!💥

That same day, the Senate agreed to pass the bill after a near-unanimous vote in the House. The following day, Trump wrote on Truth Social that he had signed the bill.

Days after the bill's passing, Marjorie Taylor Greene announced her decision to resign from Congress via a video on social media, saying that she had "too much self-respect and dignity" to endure a "hurtful and hateful primary against [her] by the President we all fought for."

“I have too much self-respect and dignity, love my family way too much, and do not want my sweet district to have to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the President we all fought for, only to fight and win my election while Republicans will likely lose the midterms."

Marjorie Taylor Greene further added that she refused "to be a battered wife" who hoped that things would improve, adding:

"And in turn, be expected to defend the president against impeachment after he hatefully dumped tens of millions of dollars against me and tried to destroy me. It’s all so absurd and completely unserious. I refuse to be a battered wife hoping it all goes away and gets better.”

Meanwhile, Donald Trump called Marjorie Taylor Greene's resignation "great news for the country" in an interview with ABC News.
