It’s safe to assume that Maxx Crosby envisioned himself in a Baltimore Ravens uniform on Mar. 6.
Why? Well, because the Ravens agreed to trade two first-round picks to the Las Vegas Raiders for Crosby in a blockbuster deal. Unfortunately, though, the Ravens didn’t like what they saw during Crosby’s physical/health examination, prompting them to rescind the deal on Mar. 10.
On Tuesday, Crosby sent the Ravens a heartfelt message after his failed trade with the AFC North franchise.
“I’ve gone through some (expletive) in my life, I can’t lie, but that whole situation was probably one of the most unique, crazy, wild, up-and-down roller coasters I’ve ever been a part of," Crosby said on 'The Rush' podcast Tuesday.
"One of the Ravens guys called me, and he’s like,’ Yo, we’re trying to figure this out. We’re going to get this done. Don’t worry.’ Like five minutes later, CJ (LaBoy) calls me, he’s like, ‘They’re backing out.’ I’m frozen, I’m like, ‘Holy (expletive), what the (expletive)?’ I’m livid, confused, the whole nine, all in one.”
Crosby's relentless pass-rushing ability and run-stuffing chops would have made him a great fit with Baltimore. Crosby finished the 2025-26 campaign with 73 tackles, 10 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
Adding Trey Hendrickson, a dynamic four-time Pro Bowl Defensive end, to the fold will unquestionably benefit the Ravens in the long run. Still, it’s unfortunate that the Ravens won’t get to utilize Crosby’s services in Baltimore in 2026-27 and beyond.
Will the Raiders consider trading Crosby in the future? Perhaps, but for the time being, it appears the Eastern Michigan product will remain in Las Vegas.
