The New York Giants fired coach Brian Daboll on Monday after a disastrous run this season. One of the coaches rumored to be on the firing block is New England Patriots' Matt LaFleur.

The pressure on LaFleur has increased after the team's disappointing 10-7 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. While the fans were incensed with his play-calling during Monday's game, the Packers coach is focusing on his job after the team's second consecutive home loss.

"I'll leave that for everybody else to decide," LaFleur said. "I'll just focus on the day-to-day and try to do -- I feel like you're always coaching for everything in this league, you know? That's just my mindset. It's always been that way. You can't ever exhale. You gotta always be pushing. That's just my mindset and that will be my mindset 'til they tell me not to coach anymore."

LaFleur took over the coaching role in 2019 and has been with the team since. He is in the penultimate year of his contract. The Packers are 5-3-1 for the season under LaFleur. The Packers coach highlighted the offensive issues that have plagued the team of late.

“I don’t sense any quit in there,” LaFleur said. “It’s a good football team that we went against, and we just have to be better offensively. That’s really the message. I thought our defense played really well, and we did some good things on special teams. "Unfortunately, like I’ve said all along, you’ve got to find a way to score more points. It starts with myself, and there’s a level of execution that has to go with that as well.”

Packers quarterback Jordan Love backs coach Matt LaFleur amid increasing pressure on his job

While Matt LaFleur has faced criticism from the fanbase after consecutive home defeats, Packers quarterback Jordan Love is backing the coach and his staff to turnaround things.

“I’ve got a lot of trust in Matt,” Love said. “That’s something that’s not wavering at all. I’ve been with Matt since I got here. I know exactly what he’s capable of and what the whole staff’s capable of. So that’s not anything that’s wavering. Like I said, it just comes back to all of us — players, coaches, everybody — finding a way to improve and get better.”

The Packers will be up against the Giants, who are without a coach after Daboll's firing this week, in their Week 11 clash on Sunday.
