Saturday marked a low point for Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers, who were beaten 41-24 by a Baltimore Ravens despite playing without Lamar Jackson. The loss extended Green Bay’s losing streak to three games and intensified scrutiny around LaFleur’s job security.
Derrick Henry torched the Packers’ defense, recording 216 yards and four touchdowns while averaging six yards per carry. With a 9-6-1 record entering their final regular-season matchup against the Minnesota Vikings on Jan. 4, speculation is growing about whether the organization will stick with LaFleur moving forward. One Green Bay insider has shared his perspective on the matter.
Matt Schneidman of The Athletic believes Green Bay could consider moving in a different direction this offseason if the team is eliminated in the Wild Card round, as the Packers are on track to finish as the No. 7 seed in the NFC for the third straight season.

Matt LaFleur’s contract with Green Bay runs through the end of the 2026 NFL season, and there has been no urgency from the organization to negotiate an extension. While the Packers still have time to make a decision, the results between now and the conclusion of the 2025 postseason could play a major role in determining his future.
Despite compiling a strong 76-39-1 regular-season record since taking over, the 46-year-old has yet to win more than one playoff game in any single season.
Matt LaFleur shares his thoughts on the blowout loss to "Lamar-less Ravens"
The Green Bay Packers were blown out 41-24 by the Baltimore Ravens at Lambeau Field on Saturday, and coach Matt LaFleur called the loss a humbling experience.
After the game, LaFleur credited Baltimore for controlling the game from start to finish, while admitting Green Bay fell short of its standards in both execution and coaching.
“That was a humbling night, Give Baltimore a ton of credit," LaFleur said. "They came in here and were in complete control the whole game. Unfortunately, it wasn't up to our standard in regards to how we played, how we coached. And that's what happens."Baltimore controlled the game throughout, amassing 308 rushing yards and converting 10 third downs. The Ravens scored on seven of their first eight drives, with Derrick Henry powering the offense.
In Jordan Love’s absence, Malik Willis provided a spark for Green Bay but couldn’t prevent the loss. Willis totaled 348 yards and three touchdowns, throwing for 288 yards and one score while adding 60 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Although Matt LaFleur has delivered strong regular-season results in Green Bay, he has not been able to translate that momentum into postseason success, which continues to raise questions. He may survive beyond this season, but his job security is not guaranteed, and the Packers could begin evaluating alternative options.
