There has been a major update on WWE's upcoming schedule. Tonight's edition of RAW will be airing live from Pennsylvania and is the first show following John Cena's retirement at Saturday Night's Main Event.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, the promotion will be having a double taping tonight, with next week's episode of WWE SmackDown being filmed. The promotion will also be having another double-taping this Friday night, following SmackDown, and next week's edition of RAW will be taped.

The report noted that the WWE team has a break from December 20 until Christmas before the Holiday Tour begins on December 26. A source informed the publication that from the end of December until February will be "one of the busiest travel periods" for the promotion in a while.

Tonight's WWE Raw is set as a double taping

Gunther is scheduled to appear on tonight's episode of WWE RAW after defeating John Cena in his retirement match at Saturday Night's Main Event. World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk is scheduled to be on tonight's show, and The Usos will be facing The New Day in a tag team match as well.

John Cena Sr. reacts to his son's WWE retirement match

John Cena Sr. recently commented on his son tapping out to Gunther at Saturday Night's Main Event.

In an interview with legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter, Cena Sr. stated that the ending to the match should have been booked in another way. Cena Sr. added that he would have preferred to see his son pass out in his final match rather than submit.

"I'm not sure that's a tapout. I wonder if it's the last effort to try to break that hold. That would have been a good deal right there. And then, Gunther would have clutched it even more, and Cena would have blacked out. Period. Without a tapout. So Gunther would have still been the winner by default because Cena couldn't answer the ten-count. It would have been better to go that way than I think the way it kind of went."
