Mariska Hargitay teases Jalen Brunson 'Law & Order SVU' appearance

Mariska Hargitay is working her magic on getting Jalen Brunson on "Law & Order: SVU" next season. 

The veteran actress, who has been at the helm of the crime drama for 27 seasons, has pitched the New York Knicks star to make an appearance on the show after he's expressed his interest.

“Don’t tell anyone but see him on ‘SVU,'” she whispered to Savannah Guthrie on Thursday, Aug. 13, on the "Today" show. "Don’t tell anyone but we got some things in the works.”

“I like that! Well, you tell me then, it all comes true,” Guthrie said.

Brunson is a huge fan of the show and shared on his podcast "The Roommates Show," which he hosts with his Knicks teammate, Josh Hart, that he began his fandom after his father, former Knicks star and current assistant coach of the franchise, said, “I remember my dad always watching the show and you just hear the iconic (theme song) ‘don-don’ all the time. I always found myself watching the show. Honestly the older I got, the more I watched, the more I see now I’m like, ‘I’ve seen that episode,’ I’ve seen so many different episodes.”

Hargitay has been seen at multiple Knicks games cheering him on. She was sitting courtside during Game 4 of the NBA Finals and hugged him after the Knicks won 106-107 over the San Antonio Spurs.

The Knicks star has also been supportive of Hargitay as he and his wife, Ali Brunson, went to see the actress on Broadway for "Every Brilliant Thing."

Brunson already has a cosign from Law & Order: SVU alum Christopher Meloni, who told TMZ back in June that he is “absolutely” supportive of Brunson getting on the show.

“I don’t know if you’ve heard, but he’s a world champion, he can do whatever the hell he wants,” Meloni said.
