The Seattle Mariners have a superstar catcher, Cal Raleigh.
But catching depth is always a good thing to have, so they made a trade on Tuesday with the Minnesota Twins to add to their backstop reserves.
The new guy comes over from the Minnesota Twins in a deal announced by the Mariners on Tuesday night: Jhonny Pereda.
Pereda is a 29-year old catcher who has played in 48 MLB games over the past two seasons.
Pereda made his MLB debut for the Miami Marlins in 2024.
