My job just banned us from using the bathroom if anyone else is on lunch. Is this even legal?

no one is allowed to go to the bathroom.

Not even to just pee if another employee is on their 30-minute lunch break.

They schedule lunches back-to- back, one person at a time. On weekends, we have 6 to 8 employees on the floor covering the counter and helping customers. There is plenty of coverage.

I asked my manager if I could quickly step away to pee. Their exact response was to ask if the person on lunch was back yet, and when I said no, they told me I had to wait.

Denying basic biological functions because someone else is eating a sandwich seems completely unhinged to me.

SafeWord9999 Bring a Bucket with you next shift. When boss asks you what it's for say 'well you don't let me go to the toilet when I need to go so I'm going to in the bucket instead.
