OLD TRAFFORD, MANCHESTER — Michael Carrick leads Manchester United into derby action against Manchester City in his first game since being appointed as head coach until the end of the season.
Caretaker boss Darren Fletcher presided over two winless matches following Ruben Amorim's departure earlier this month and Carrick has been entrusted with United's bid for Champions League qualification - the only thing the Red Devils have left to play for this season.
City are hoping to return to winning ways in the Premier League after three consecutive draws since the turn of the year helped Arsenal to open up a six-point lead at the top of the table.
Since then, Pep Guardiola's side have beaten Exeter City and Newcastle United in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup respectively, with January signing Antoine Semenyo on target in both matches.
