Latest prediction sees Chargers stealing $24 million Pro Bowl star from AFC foe

The Los Angeles Chargers' season came to a screeching halt last Sunday night, losing 16-3 in the wild card round to the New England Patriots. Justin Herbert was sacked six times in the loss, which was a microcosm for the Chargers' season.

The Chargers went through more offensive line combinations than any team in the NFL, which led to Herbert being sacked 54 times. Because of this, Aaron Schatz believes that the Chargers will sign Pittsburgh Steelers guard Isaac Seumalo.

"The Chargers will blow their free agency budget on Steelers guard Isaac Seumalo," Schatz writes. "Despite turning 33 next season, he is still playing at a high level. Seumalo ranked second among all guards with a 96.9% pass block win rate this season."

Seumalo has been a steward of the Steelers' offensive line over the last three seasons, earning a Pro Bowl bid in 2024. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft, where he spent the first seven years of his career and helped the Ealges win a Super Bowl in 2017.

Considering how poor the Chargers' offensive line played in 2025, adding Seumalo would certainly give them an interior upgrade. Plus, when Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater return, the Chargers could have one of the top offensive lines in the league in this scenario.
