A major AEW star has been absent for quite a while, and a new update on their status within the company is creating buzz in the wrestling world.

Nyla Rose is the main subject. She signed with AEW in February 2019 and quickly rose to prominence. Her biggest moment was on an episode of Dynamite in February 2020, when she defeated the inaugural AEW Women's World Champion, Riho, for the title. Even after losing the belt a month later, the Native Beast continued to be involved in major storylines in the women's division and remained a key figure on TV until most of 2023. However, currently, the American Kaiju has not appeared on the promotion's programming for more than two years. Now, Fightful has reported that there is no news about Tony Khan having any creative plans for Rose.

Responding to a fan question during the latest edition of Fightful Select Answers, Sean Ross Sapp said that her name hasn't come up in creative discussions and that even she might not know why she's not being used. He also mentioned that Rose remains active on the indies and that it's common for talent in the Jacksonville-based promotion to disappear for a year at a time.

AEW star Nyla Rose recently received a major award outside of wrestling.

For those unaware, Nyla Rose is an openly transgender wrestler who has never hesitated to pursue what she loves, despite obvious challenges. Earlier this year, the former AEW Women's World Champion was recognized with the Art of Change award by the city of Morgantown, West Virginia, for being a trailblazer for transgender women and the first to be signed to a major wrestling company.

The Native Beast revealed the achievement on Instagram with a heartfelt message.

"Yesterday was a little surreal… still searching for the words to fit the moment, but for now I want to say thank you to @morgantownwvpride and the city of Morgantown WVA and of course *ahem* the MAYOR @firstwardmorgantown for this amazing honor, and gift," Nyla posted on Instagram.

It remains to be seen when Nyla Rose will come back to All Elite Wrestling programming.
