Arsenal are looking at the summer transfer window as an opportunity to revamp their roster as they aim to put together a team that can challenge for the Premier League crown.
The Gunners are looking at several players from different positions. Therefore, they are one of the many clubs in the Europe to chase Bournemouth's Dean Huijsen.
While Arsenal have had a decent defensive record this season, there's always room for improvement and securing someone of Huijsen's calibre would be a significant boost for the Gunners, allowing Mikel Arteta to play a different formation or will give him room to rotate his defenders, keeping them fresh and free from injury.
However, recent reports on The Mirror suggest that the Spanish defender has snubbed Arsenal, Chelsea and other interested Premier League clubs as he pursues a move to Real Madrid this summer.
The Spain international, who joined Bournemouth for a little more than £12 million from Juventus last summer, may already be on his way out after playing a solitary season for the Cherries.
He has grown in stature under the tutelage of Andoni Iraola, who realized his potential and used him to great effect as he became one of the sought-after youg centre-backs in Europe.

The Spain international has a £50 million release clause and as per reports by Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are ready to trigger the 20-year-old's release clause. But apparently, the 20-year-old young centre-back is edging close to a move to Santiago Bernabeu.
Recently, Spanish outlet Marca also shared that Los Blancos remain his primary target despite interest from many top European teams.

While the player is eager to don the royal white of Real Madrid, they are also keen to sign him. They got to know that his £50 million release clause can be paid in three instalments, which is imperative for them as they can invest the money in other places during the transfer window.
Los Blancos tried their best to sign Huijsen in 2021, but at that time, they lost the duel to Juventus. However, now the 20-year-old centre-back is a much better player with plenty of exposure and experience.
Huijsen's snub will not affect Arsenal drastically as they already have players like Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba, Ben White, Riccardo Calafiori, Jurrien Timber and Jakub Kiwior in their roster.
While some of the players here can play in several positions, all of them are capable of slotting in at centre-back if needed. However, injuries have been a major concern in Arteta's team with the likes of Calafiori, Gabriel and others already out for long spells in the sidelines.
Also, there are talks about Kiwior's departure this summer as the Poland international is looking for a bigger role and doesn't want to play second fiddle. Arteta is also fine with his sale as they need funds to facilitate major signings this summer.
