Usually, when a team only wins three games the season before, they aren't featured heavily in prime time games. But the New York Giants are the Giants, after all, and even though they finished 2024 with a 3-14 record, they're still getting a fair share of nighttime kickoffs, according to NJ.com's Art Stapleton.
Stapleton is reporting that Big Blue will have at least three prime-time games.
"Can confirm at least three prime time games for the Giants: Week 3, Sunday Night Football at MetLife Stadium vs. the Kansas City Chiefs for their home opener; Monday Night Football in December at the New England Patriots; and Thursday Night Football vs. the Philadelphia Eagles (working on confirming that date)," Stapleton wrote.
New York Giants face tough prime-time slate in 2025
Two of those three games -- the Chiefs in Week 3 and the Eagles later in the season -- could be a bloodbath on national television, especially for a Giants team that's still in a transition period at quarterback. Sure, the defense will hold its own, especially with their fearsome trio of pass rushers led by first-round pick Abdul Carter, but if coach Brian Daboll makes an early-season QB switch to rookie Jaxson Dart, the bright lights of the big city will suddenly get brighter.
We'll have the complete New York Giants' 2025 schedule once it's released on Wednesday evening.
