"Ghost rider and Batman let’s gooo," one fan wrote in response to the post, while another commented, "Can't wait for this!"
The film follows Madden’s remarkable journey—from his Super Bowl-winning partnership with Al Davis and the Raiders, to creating Madden NFL, and becoming one of the most iconic voices in football history,” the post read.
As Al Davis, Bale will portray the longtime owner and fiery visionary behind the Oakland Raiders, known for his rebellious spirit and “Just Win, Baby” mantra, who hired a young John Madden as head coach in 1969, making him the youngest head coach in the AFL at the time.
The film also stars John Mulaney as Trip Hawkins, Kathryn Hahn as Virginia Madden and Sienna Miller as Carol Davis. David O. Russell is directing.
From a fiery NFL coach to a beloved television personality — and the namesake of the wildly successful EA Sports video game franchise, Madden is known for his larger-than-life persona, booming voice and passionate love of the game, which left an indelible mark on American sports culture.
Last year the network premiered another Madden-centric show with the release of “It's in the Game: Madden, NFL,” a four-part docuseries chronicling the rise of the Madden NFL video game franchise.
While some may call Cage’s casting as Madden, “a head-scratcher,” according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the film is currently shooting in metro Atlanta and “will cover Madden’s time from 1969 to 1978 as an NFL coach for the Oakland Raiders.”
A release date for the "Madden" biopic has yet to be announced, but once it premieres, it will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
