Luke McCaffrey injury update is bad news for Commanders

Luke McCaffrey didn’t last long on Sunday Night Football.

The Washington Commanders’ wide receiver returned the opening kickoff against the Seahawks.

And that was the last play he played.

McCaffrey was tackled hard and landed on his left shoulder.

Before the first quarter was over, Washington had ruled McCaffrey out.

It’s a really bad time for this injury to happen.

The Commanders are missing Terry McLaurin for the fifth time this season after he re-injured his quad.

They also haven’t had Noah Brown the whole season as he’s still on Injured Reserve.

Deebo Samuel is back from his heel injury and playing, which is about the only good news.

Beyond that, Jayden Daniels will have to make through with a lot of regular backups who have been moved onto the field in bigger roles.

The Commanders fell behind early against the Seahawks, too. Sam Darnold hit Tory Horton for a TD.

Seattle is shorthanded, too. Their second receiver, Cooper Kupp, is sidelined.

The passing games will have to make do with a lot of lesser names to try and win the primetime game in front of a national audience.
