Terri Irwin Details Final Days With Steve Irwin on 20th Anniversary of His Death
Amber Eggers has died following a serious health battle.
The Love After Lockup star—who appeared on season two of the WEtv reality series—died on Sept. 3 in hospital in Atlanta, G.a., after suffering from acute liver failure, her mom Monica Eggers confirmed to TMZ. She was 41.
Amber was admitted to the hospital a few days before her death after she started feeling sick, according to Monica. But ultimately, doctors weren’t able to keep her heart beating. Her mother did not offer further details on her condition.
However, a month before her death, Amber shared that she had recently suffered a stroke.
“I just had that mini stroke and my bday,” she wrote in an Aug. 5 Facebook post, “what better time th[an] the present.”
Amber had been experiencing severe health issues over the last year, with her sister Erin Hyndman launching a GoFundMe in May 2025 to help with medical expenses.
“I’m reaching out today with an update and a heavy heart to ask for your help,” she wrote at the time. “Many of you know Amber is one of the kindest and most big-hearted people you could ever meet. Right now, she needs all of that strength for the fight of her life.”
In her post, Erin shared that her sister had been hospitalized for “severe pneumonia and a bacterial infection in her blood,” noting that Amber’s condition “became critical.”
Days after creating the fundraiser, Erin wrote that Amber was out of the ICU and had started physical therapy to “regain strength in her legs to be able to walk again.”
Amber first appeared on Love After Lockup in 2019, meeting her boyfriend Vincent Gonzalez while she was serving a four-year prison sentence for drug trafficking. The former couple got engaged, but broke up after Amber was released from prison.

While incarcerated, Amber became close friends with Michelle “Puppy” Deaton and the two subsequently made cameos on the spinoff Life After Lockup.
Following the sad news of her death, the franchise shared a touching tribute to Amber.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Amber Eggers, an original and unforgettable member of the Love After Lockup family,” the series wrote in joint statement with WEtv shared on Instagram Sept. 4. “She was a bright light, who shared her life story with courage and authenticity, and we are honored to have been a part of her journey over several years.”
The statement added, “Our hearts are with her family and friends who held her close.”
