Louisville quarterback Miller Moss is not expected to play Saturday against SMU because of a foot injury, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel.
The Cardinals are set to turn to freshman Deuce Adams for his first start of the season. Moss suffered the injury during the week and is expected to dress but will be available only as an emergency option, according to reports. Along with Adams, Louisville plans to rotate redshirt junior Brady Allen at quarterback. Adams has attempted just four passes this season, all coming in a pair of non-conference blowouts.
Adams steps into a critical matchup against an SMU defense that is expected to have two key contributors available. Defensive end Cameron Robertson and defensive back Jaelyn Davis-Robinson, both listed as questionable, are expected to play.
No. 19 Louisville (7-3) visits SMU (7-3) on Nov. 22 at 12 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The Cardinals enter with a top-20 defense allowing 297.9 yards per game, while SMU counters with an offense averaging 406.6 yards per game and ranking 18th nationally in passing.
