Los Angeles Chargers will debut alternate helmets in 2025

The Los Angeles Chargers will have a new look this coming season, something that should excite fans of the team as just about every other team in the league has introduced new looks.

The NFL lifted its single shell rule in 2022, allowing teams to have a second shell to use with alternate uniforms, creating a situation where teams can now have multiple different uniform options. Since that rule was lifted, 24 of the league's 32 teams have come up with an alternate helmet.

This season, five teams will introduce a new helmet, and the Chargers will be one of them.

Andrew Lind of Sportslogos.net had the following to say in regards to what he thinks the Chargers new look will be:

"The Chargers, on the other hand, will almost certainly reveal a navy blue helmet that matches their Color Rush uniforms, complete with the same gold lightning bolt on the sides as their jerseys and pants. This would be a nod to their 1988-2006 helmets and would no longer force them to change the decals on their standard white lids."

The other teams who will reportedly release new helmets, which we should get a chance to preview in July, are the Washington Commanders, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints.

Picturing a fresh, updated helmet like the one worn below by Chargers great Junior Seau, matched up with the current color rush jersey, could be an extremely cool look that would become popular amongst the fanbase. It's one more thing for Chargers fans to look forward to as we approach the 2025 NFL season.
