Social media spares nobody.
Especially if you’re the league’s best team in the Oklahoma City Thunder. NBA fans seemingly waited to see the Thunder’s dominance all season offset in the playoffs.
The criticism poured down on Oklahoma City all evening after a questionable Game 1 loss to the Denver Nuggets.
“Unfortunately Chet was a liability tonight,” one fan tweeted. “Missing two dunks. Bad foul on Jokic late. And of course the missed FT’s there at the end. Also questionable fouling strategy while up 3. Make them make a shot.”
The Thunder boasted a six-point lead with two minutes left and even led by three with 11 seconds remaining. Instead of forcing a game-winning 3-pointer, the team tried to exchange points playing the foul game. Thunder forward Chet Holmgren missed both his free throws, setting up an Aaron Gordon game-winner on the other end.
“For those that wanted the sad Thunder fans after the AG buzzer beater Enya montage,” one user posted with a video of Thunder fans reacting to Gordon’s shot.

Others used this loss as fuel for the Nikola Jokic MVP campaign over Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
“Nikola Jokic Vs. the OKC Thunder (Best Defense Ever): 42 PTS, 22 REBS, 6 AST, 2 BLKS, 1 STL, 60.5% TS, +10 VS A 68-WIN TEAM. BEST IN THE WORLD,” one Nuggets fan said.
Hopefully, the Thunder can use this loss to be better in Game 2. They’re back against the Nuggets Thursday night.
