Barry Sanders knows running backs, and he knows the Detroit Lions.
The NFL legend thinks both aspects will play a huge role in the 2025 NFL season.
Sanders is a big fan of the Lions' running back duo of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery.
Here's what he had to say about their impact on the upcoming season.
“They’re the best duo in the NFL and there’s no reason that’s going to change any time soon,” Sanders told USA Today. “If a Super Bowl is in our future, in our near future, you would think those two guys would be a big part of it.”

The Lions were upset by the Washington Commanders in the 2024 NFC divisional round.
The Eagles won the 2024 Super Bowl after the Lions had the best record in the league.
Philadelphia did it with running back Saquon Barkley having a record-setting season.
Sanders is hoping his former team is next up, and he knows they have the RBs to do it.
The rest of the NFL is likely glad Sanders isn't back there, but a Gibbs/Montgomery combo is the next best thing.
