Seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton had a disastrous 2025 season with Ferrari after making the move from Mercedes. The Briton revealed that he'd be throwing his phone in the bin during the off-season, but has been posting on social media. When a fan questioned about the social media detox, Hamilton came out with a three-word response.

Hamilton decided to join the Maranello-based team in 2025 with the hopes of winning his eighth title. However, the Briton was far from challenging the leader, as he continued to struggle with the SF25 throughout the season.

Lewis Hamilton became the first Ferrari driver to get eliminated in Q1 three consecutive times, as well as the Scuderia driver with the most starts without a podium. After the season finale in Abu Dhabi, the Briton suggested he was looking forward to the off-season and disconnecting himself from the internet. He said,

“At the moment I’m only looking forward to the break. Just disconnecting. Not speaking to anyone. No one’s going to be able to get a hold of me this winter. I won’t have my phone with me… this time it’s going in the fricking bin.”

Lewis Hamilton shared images from his visit to the Lululemon store in London, a post about the F1 Movie update in the F1 25 video game, and most recently shared images from his New York City escapade. The Ferrari driver also uploaded an image from NYC on X with the caption,

“I ❤️ NY” A fan took to the comments section and asked, “sir this doesn’t look like a social media detox???” “All about balance,” was Lewis Hamilton's three-word response

Hamilton ended the season P6 in the standings with 156 points to his name, whereas his teammate Charles Leclerc ended with 242 points. The Monegasque stood on the podium seven times while Hamilton didn't feature on the podium even once.

Reports of Lewis Hamilton having a strained relationship with his race engineer Riccardo Adami came out soon after the Miami GP, where the Briton made the sarcastic radio comments about ‘having a team break’. However, the seven-time champ came out and denied the reports, suggesting disagreements were a part of the relationship.

“We're evaluating all options”

Hamilton wanted to bring his former race engineer, Peter Bonnington (Bono), to Ferrari, but the British engineer decided to stay with Mercedes and became Kimi Antonelli's race engineer starting in 2025.
