Vancouver Canucks fans on social media were dejected as forward Conor Garland potentially joined the long list of injured players.
The Canucks are dealing with a growing injury list early in the season, which contributed to their 2-0 shutout loss to the New York Rangers on Tuesday.
Garland suffered an undisclosed injury after a heavy hit from Blueshirts' Sam Carrick. He eventually headed to the locker room and did not return for the third period. As of now, the club has provided no additional details on the nature of his injury.
Forward Conor Garland will not return to tonight's game.
Here's how Canucks fans on X (Twitter) reacted to the Canucks' long list of injured players. One tweeted:
"Let's just tank for Gavin McKenna."@Canucks Let's just tank for Gavin McKenna
Another chimed in:
"General Manager Patrick Alvin has announced that the Abbotsford Canucks have relocated to Vancouver, and will play games at Rogers arena."Here are some of the other top reactions on X:
"Holy f**k so many injuries if we had a full line up we’d walk over the Rangers," a third fan wrote. "Foote can do an entire post game interview on injury updates alone at this point," one humorously posted. "Finally get Demko back & rolling, now we have Chytle, Hughes & Garland injured… That Miller trade for Chytle is going to haunt the Cucks for a long time, basically got nothing for one of the top power forwards in the NHL. Rangers are so happy to not have Chytle on there roster," one opined. "This is actually insane, did we sacrifice team health to make the postseason 2 years ago?" another chimed in."Vancouver Canucks could be without their key player on upcoming three-game road trip
The Canucks’ injury woes could continue to sting them when they begin their three-game road trip, starting with the St. Louis Blues on Thursday.
Apart from Conor Garland, captain Quinn Hughes, Filip Chytil, Derek Forbort, Victor Mancini, Teddy Blueger, Nils Höglander, and Jonathan Lekkerimäki are all out due to injuries.
Only Hughes is expected to return before November. Meanwhile, the Canucks are sixth in the Pacific Division with a 5-6-0 record.
