Do you ever wish you were 12 years old again and had all your friends sleeping at your house on a Friday night? I sure do!

If there's one thing I miss about my childhood is all the free time on my hands and the possibility to see my friends almost every day. We would come back from school and go all together to one of the girls' houses, spend the whole afternoon there, and sometimes even stay the night. The more I think about it, the worse I feel for their moms, having to take on the paramount task of taking care of at least 5 crazy pre-teen girls, with way too much energy for their own good. They say boys are louder and messier, but if anyone still thinks that, it's because they've never had daughters or nieces.

I remember one particular night during summer. We went to one of the girls' houses and spent hours in the pool, swimming, playing, and being loud enough for half the neighborhood to hear. And, as if that wasn't enough, there was a bounce house in this girl's backyard, so after coming out of the pool, we stayed there jumping up and down, chasing after one another for hours, and when we got tired, we just stayed there, lying down and looking at the stars while we gossiped about our teachers, the boys we liked, and imagined what our futures were going to be like. I have no idea what time it was when we finally went to bed, but one sure thing is that we had enough energy to stay up for who knows how many more hours. Those were some of the happiest moments of my childhood.

Sleepovers were something to look forward to, to plan, to try to recreate things we saw in movies and on TV, because it wasn't a real sleepover unless we had a spa session at home (even though we were barely teenagers and the last thing we needed was to relax), or we had an entire photoshoot worthy of a fashion magazine, or tried to give each other haircuts, or did karaoke. Yeah, our moms had their hands full with us, but we all remember those days very fondly.

These memes are for all girlies who loved sleepovers and had the best time with their friends!
