John Cena's last WWE match has become the talk of the town, as The Franchise Player has vowed to remain retired following December 2025. Meanwhile, Tommy Carlucci stated that Rey Mysterio could be the 48-year-old star's final opponent.
Rey Mysterio's legendary career as a luchador is hard to recreate, as it spans over three decades, which made him an inspiration to the next generation and a household name across the globe. In 2011, Mysterio crossed paths with John Cena and lost the WWE Championship to The Franchise Player in less than two hours after winning the vacant title.
Speaking on Behind The Turnbuckle Studios' The Coach and Bro Show, ex-WWE employee Tommy Carlucci and Jonathan Coachman discussed John Cena's potential opponent for his final match. During this, Carlucci stated that running it back with Rey Mysterio can be great, as it has a pop value over any other new or unknown wrestler.
"Personally, I think him [John Cena] and Rey Mysterio can have a great match. Rey is a Hall of Famer. They've had history before. And by the way, that name pops. I mean, when you tell me my last match is Cena and Rey Mysterio, that makes me say, 'Holy s**t again, what are they going to do?" Carlucci said.WWE teased a legendary wrestler's return ahead of John Cena's retirement match
