On Thursday, October 30, BTS' Jungkook kickstarted a livestream on Weverse to spend some time and connect with ARMYs. During the same, the idol was unboxing a currently viral Korean snack, Kancho, and the recent 40th anniversary edition of the snack printed names on each of their biscuits. Therefore, it soon became a trend in Korea to see if one could find their name in the latest edition of the Kancho snack.
After failing to find his name on the first try during a livestream on October 29, he tried again during his recent livestream. As he picked out each biscuit from the packet, he read it out loud to the audience. However, he decided to skip one particular name and expressed that if he read the name out loud, it could lead to some controversy. The rumours initially began back in July 2025, when netizens speculated that the BTS member's new Instagram ID, @mnijungkook, largely resembled aespa's Winter's real name, Min-jeong. As the rumours continued to dominate the internet, the lack of confirmation or denial of the news led the speculations to die down over time.
However, during Jungkook's recent livestream on October 29, people pointed out that the black-and-white threaded bracelet the idol was wearing during the livestream looked similar to a bracelet that aespa's Winter was previously spotted wearing. Regardless, no other grounded evidence has confirmed a romantic relationship between Jungkook and Winter.
Therefore, when the BTS member skipped one name while unboxing the Kancho snack since it might lead to controversies, fans naturally speculated that the name could've been aespa's Winter's name or her real name, Min-jeong. Following this, people criticized netizens' overanalytical and extreme shipping scenarios in the K-pop industry that lead to dating rumors with the smallest of details and alleged connections.

BTS' Jungkook, otherwise known as Jeon Jung-kook, was discharged from the military in June 2025, along with his fellow bandmate, Jimin, who enlisted under the Buddy System of the South Korean military. Following the same, the idol has mostly been spending his time reuniting with the other BTS members and also reconnecting with ARMYs through Weverse livestreams and social media posts.
