Laura Loomer recently took credit for Alex Jones "seeing the light" about Candace Owens, calling the podcast host "malicious and insane" due to the many conspiracy theories she purported about conservative political activist Charlie Kirk's assassination.

For those uninformed, Candace Owens, who previously worked at Kirk's Turning Point USA, has spread several theories about the activist's fatal shooting, including claims that America, Egypt, and France were involved in the assassination, per CNN. On one occasion, Owen also claimed that Kirk was "betrayed" by the leadership of TPUSA. The podcaster has yet to provide concrete evidence for any of her claims at the time of writing this article.

During a recent episode of her podcast, Candace Owens claimed that an eyewitness told her he had spotted Erika Kirk, Charlie Kirk's wife, at a restricted base hours before Kirk was fatally shot in the neck in Utah on September 10, 2025.

The eyewitness, identified as Mitch, claimed he had seen Erika and Brian Harpole, the head of the company that provided security at the Utah event where Charlie Kirk was killed, at Fort Huachuca in Arizona just before Kirk's shooting.

Following this, Alex Jones contested Candace Owens' claims during an episode of InfoWars on December 22, 2025. He claimed that Harpole had an alibi, further adding that the head of security was in Dallas around the time Owens' eyewitness placed him at Fort Huachuca.

This led to a back-and-forth between Jones and Owens on X, with Jones reposting a video that claimed Mitch was a serial abuser and con artist who "fabricated" the story. Jones also blamed Candace Owens for accusing "innocent people with ironclad alibis of being in a conspiracy against Charlie Kirk’s life" in one X post. In another post, he suggested that her theories were part of "premeditated manipulation."

On December 24, 2025, Laura Loomer quote-tweeted one of Alex Jones' X posts about Candace Owens, adding that she and Jones had a "very long private conversation about some bad actors in the woke right" a few weeks ago. She further added that she was responsible for changing Jones' views about Owens, writing:

"I’m proud to say that I am responsible for @RealAlexJones seeing the light as it pertains to how malicious and insane @RealCandaceO has become. A couple weeks ago, Alex Jones and I had a very long private conversation about some bad actors in the woke right and Alex told me he was starting to come around to what I have been saying for the last 2 years. Eventually more people will wake up to this psyop."

Exploring Mitch's claims on Candace Owens' podcast

During the December 19 episode of her show, Candace Owens interviewed an alleged eyewitness named Mitch, who claimed he saw Erika Kirk and Brian Harpole at Fort Huachuca in Arizona before Charlie Kirk was assassinated in Utah.

Mitch told Candace Owens that he had been at the base in early September to "get records" and noticed unusual military activity in the area. He further alleged that he was questioned by authorities and ordered to stay away from the base for 24 hours. Mitch said he didn't think much about it till he saw Kirk's assassination on the news.

He then claimed that he saw a photo of someone "in a ponytail with those eyes," alleging that he recognised the person as someone whom he had seen in the lobby of Fort Huachuca a day before the assassination. Mitch further said he was “95 to 99 per cent” that the person he saw was Erika Kirk, saying:

“I don’t know these people from TPUSA, never been associated with it. I could recognise Charlie Kirk, probably. But what I started seeing come across and got more familiar once I saw a picture of somebody in a ponytail with those eyes, that was that person. They were there, and the head of security [Brian Harpole] was one of the people walking out with the congressman.”

Mitch added:

"There’s a picture with Erika Kirk with a ponytail from her past, that person matches who I saw at Fort Huachuca in the lobby."

In a subsequent episode of InfoWars, Alex Jones said Brian Harpole provided receipts of flight tickets that supposedly placed him in Dallas around the time Mitch claimed he saw him at Fort Huachuca.

Meanwhile, Candace Owens dismissed the tickets in an X post on December 22. She insisted that the head of security did not have an alibi at 7:30 am on September 9, 2025, which was the alleged time the meeting at Fort Huachuca had concluded.

"Alex is just revealing himself. I already had Brian Harpole’s flights and confirmed to my audience that they DO NOT provide an alibi for 7:30am—which is when the meeting CONCLUDED at Fort Huachuca. I also texted Brian Harpole and offered him a chance to give me any response, before our latest episode," Owens wrote.

I also texted Brian Harpole and offered him a chance to give me any response, before our latest episode. I was looking to simply debunk that it was him because I am open to the possibility that it may have just been a lookalike. But everyone out here panicking and Amodei fumbling his schedule is definitely making things more interesting…

Meanwhile, Erika Kirk has not responded to Candace Owens' recent allegations as of this article. Kirk and Owens reportedly met for a 4.5-hour discussion on December 15, 2025, with Kirk writing on X that she had “a very productive conversation” with the podcaster.
