Lakers trade pitch lands Bucks $109 million star, and it isn’t Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks are two of the more intriguing teams to watch this offseason, with the Bucks potentially looking to move on from some players and the Lakers needing to retool around Luka Doncic.

The Bucks' decisions will likely come down to what happens with Giannis Antetokounmpo, though it's still not crazy to think they could move on from other guys even if they don't trade him.

One signing that seemingly hasn't worked out for the Bucks is Myles Turner. Turner, who was a big piece of the Indiana Pacers and used to crush the Bucks, was expected to come in and be a second piece next to Antetokounmpo.

However, his first year was very disappointing, to say the least, and it's caused some to suggest that trading him could make a lot of sense. It was recently proposed that the Bucks and Lakers could be involved in a three-team trade that would send Turner to Los Angeles, with two other pieces going to Milwaukee and three players going to the Brooklyn Nets.

Lakers receive: Myles Turner

Bucks receive: Deandre Ayton, Terance Mann

Nets receive: Jarred Vanderbilt, Jake LaRavia, Dalton Knecht

“Despite Deandre Ayton showing flashes of being one of the better offensive centers in the league, his inconsistent play drew criticism throughout the season. For a team trying to maximize Doncic's prime, the Lakers may look for a center who brings more defensive reliability and better floor spacing.

“Myles Turner would fit that profile. A strong rim protector who can also stretch the floor, Turner could give the Lakers a different dimension on both ends of the court,” Basketnews wrote.

From the Bucks' perspective, I don't really know why they'd want Ayton in return, since he hasn't proven to be a good NBA player for more than a few games at a time.

While Turner has struggled, I'd go so far as to say he's better than Ayton, so it would make more sense for the Bucks to continue what they're doing at the moment rather than make this trade.
